Basilio Ramírez Pascual founded Arnaut Fiscal & Legal in 1991, inspired by the surname of his grandmother, from the French region of Occitania.
Another relevant element was the work “Rudiments of Commercial Accounting or Double Entry Bookkeeping”, written by Mr. José María Brost and owned by Julia Arnaut, who accompanied Basilio during his childhood.
Let’s say that this book, which resisted my childhood misdeeds, marked my vocation a little and was part of my decision to train in these subjects and become, one day, a recognized professional in the sector.
Aspects such as the double-entry accounting system, which continues to be the system established by the 3 accounting plans that I have seen born throughout my career.
Or anecdotes such as the term “at”, which in 1851 did not refer to the internet, as it does now, but was used as a unit of measurement for wine.
My grandmother, Julia Arnaut, came from the French area of Montagne Noire (Black Mountains), Cathar region and came as a child to the town where I was born. Hence her last name. By not having siblings she was going to get lost over the years. My father had his second last name and I had his third last name, so I decided that in the event that she one day opened an office, it would have the name Arnaut.
Let’s say that, at the end of FP, five years later, an embryo of what would later become ARNAUT ASESORES was already taking shape, which I established at the end of the Diploma in Business Sciences, there in 1991 and when I was only 23 years old.
After combining studies and work, 31 years later, my grandmother’s surname is still valid through this firm, which is now better known in Spain.
